Digital Mortgage 19 took place from September 23-24 in Las Vegas. Three of our Executives had the honor of presenting at the conference.

Opening Keynote

Stuart Miller, Executive Chairman of Lennar, gave the keynote to kick off the conference. Stuart focused on simplifying the customer experience. He discussed that the customer experience is riddled with friction across the entire homebuying process and emphasized that it’s the industry’s responsibility to remove this friction with technology and innovation. Stuart also explained Lennar’s investment platform, in which Lennar invests in companies that are innovating the homebuying process. He explained that it is important to Lennar’s investment strategy to identify and partner with companies already offering solutions.

Women in Mortgage Technology Forum

Laura Escobar, President of Eagle Home Mortgage, gave the keynote at the Women in Mortgage Technology Forum at the conference. We are honored that Laura spoke at the first forum held for women at this conference. Laura told her story from the very beginning of her life to her successful career in the mortgage industry. She explained the many positions she held in the industry, starting as a receptionist and working her way up to Processor, various managerial positions, and eventually a Branch and Regional Manager at Lennar subsidiary, Eagle Home Mortgage. Laura attributes her success to the following lessons:

  1. Be so good they can’t ignore you
  2. Listen
  3. Be real
  4. Be passionate
  5. Show respect
  6. Have humility
  7. Don’t be afraid to fail
  8. Have purpose

Achieving 100% Digital Mortgage Adoption

Yianni Garcia, Vice President of Marketing & Innovation at Eagle Home Mortgage, delivered a presentation discussing how to achieve Digital Mortgage Adoption. Many in the industry voiced their displeasure and dicussed their challenges in encouraging employees to utilize their digital mortgage technology. Yianni provided solutions and strategies through internal communication and gamification to fuel adoption:
